The power bar provides energy for long-lasting physical activities such as hiking, climbing, ski touring, marathons, soccer, CrossFit, swimming - for all sports that require strength and endurance.

Some herbs used in Traditional Chinese Medicine are common foods used to supplement the diet and enrich meals when needed.

INGREDIENTS

  • 25 g gou qi zi buckthorn fruit
  • 25 g hei zhi ma black sesame seeds
  • 40 g long yan rou Longan fruits
  • 40 g da zao red dates
  • 30 g huang qi tragacanth root
  • 25 g nuts
  • 75 g rolled oats
  • 75 g flour
  • 1 peeled apple
  • 3 tbsp honey

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Roast the nuts in a pan and then crush them in a kitchen towel.

2. Pour the huang qi into a cup and cover with water. Add 1 teaspoon of honey, stir and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. Then cut into small pieces with a knife. Cut the gou qi zi, long yan rou and da zao into coarse pieces.

3. Put everything together with the oat flakes and flour in a bowl and grate in the apple.

4. Add two tablespoons of honey.

5. Knead the whole mixture with your hands to form a homogeneous mass. Pour the mixture onto a baking tray (with baking paper) and spread evenly to a thickness of about 2 cm.

6. After 20-30 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees (fan oven), the bar is ready and can be cut into portions.

Depending on taste, you can add mandarin peel chen pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) or cardamom fruit dou kou (Fructus Amomi Cardamomi); these ingredients improve digestibility. The basic recipe can be varied almost at will.
