These are complemented by the sweet longan fruits long yan rou, the licorice gan cao and the red dates da zao. The peppermint bo he brings freshness and cools the liver (TCM understands this to include symptoms such as irritability, mood swings, headaches, visual disturbances, insomnia and menstrual disorders). While lian zi xin cools heart fire (e.g. restlessness, insomnia, palpitations, restlessness, emotional imbalance). Finally, mai ya improves the flow of energy in the body and relieves food stagnation (indigestion).
